In a previous session we read in Luke 11:1-4 that Christ gave us the exact words to say when praying. The wording "when you pray say", this speaks of reciting the words verbatim. This week let us pray together the similar prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. This time Jesus said, "After this manner" This speaks of using the prayer as an outline to add similar request in the same category. So let us say these five short prayers together from Matthew, then add similar prayer and praise from our heart.
Notes
Everyone reads/prays Matthew 6:9-13 in unison. Then each one adds similar requests and worship.
All Together
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.
